Moana retains US box office top spot

Disney's latest animation, Moana, has topped the US box office for a second week, raking in $28.4m. The movie helped Disney to set a new industry record as the takings bring Disney's box office haul this year to a staggering $2.49billion in the US.

This beats the US box office record set by Universal Studios in 2015 who took in $2.45billion - benefiting from the release of Jurassic World.

Elsewhere, Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them continued to perform well, raking in $18.5m, in second place.
