Naomie Harris
1/10
OK, it's James Bond not Jane Bond but after starring as Moneypenny in the last two Bond films why couldn't Naomie Harris' character make the step up to fully-fledged secret agent and get rid of all that boring office admin?
Henry Cavill
2/10
He's already proved he can solve global issues and save the world as Superman but we can see Henry Cavill swapping his cape and tights for a dinner suit and a Walther PPK pistol!
Damian Lewis
3/10
In Homeland British actor Lewis plays Nicholas Brody, a military man devoted to his country who has been tortured, which means playing Bond should come easily for him!
Clive Owen
4/10
Clive Owen has been rumoured as a Bond for several years and in his favour, he does look good in a tux. But against him is his age - He's 52 - and may be considered too old for the role.
Tom Hardy
5/10
British actor Tom Hardy is well versed in playing hard men - from his double roles as both Kray twins in Legend to his role as Max Rockatansky in Mad Max. He can play that brooding, man-of-few-words presence better than anyone, which must make him a favourite for the role.
Michael Fassbender
6/10
Michael Fassbender can play villains or brooding heroes with equal aplomb. He even has some ideas for renewing the Bond franchise. He once said: "I think they should reboot the James Bond series and go back to his origins as a soldier. I've got a great idea for it actually, so Barbara Broccoli (007 producer), talk to me."
Tom Hiddlestone
7/10
Tom Hiddlestone can play villains in superhero movies and heroic, Bond type roles (The Night Manager) which must make him a favourite for the role. He said in 2016: "I am very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. But as to whether or not I’ll actually land the role, your guess is as good as mine, to be honest."
Idris Elba
8/10
British actor Idris Elba has long been touted for the role of Bond and he can certainly bring a brooding presence to the part - witness his detective Luther in the BBC series. He definitely looks and moves like he can fight off evil megalomaniacs while sipping a vodka martini!
David Oyelowo
9/10
David Oyelowo (pictured with wife Jessica) has played a King (A United Kingdom) a killer with a conscience (Captive) and a soldier (Lincoln). Put that together and that stands him in good stead for the role of Bond. In addition, he's already played Bond! Well, he voices 007 in the audio books!
James Norton
10/10
British actor James Norton can currently be seen fighting the Russian Mafia in the hit BBC series McMafia which stands him in excellent stead for the role of Bond. But he's playing down his chances of becoming 007. "It’s really humbling and flattering, but to have my name next to the likes of Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender is just mad," says Norton. "If you’re thinking of putting a bet on me, keep your money in your pocket.”
